Comic Book Review: The Punisher #1 - Marvel Comics (2016)

Written by Becky Cloonan
Art by Steve Dillon
Colors by Frank Martin

There is a new drug about to unleashed in all the wrong places.  The D.E.A. has been monitoring this activity but then again, so has The Punisher.

We've been waiting for it and now it's here.  The return of The Punisher to the comic book world.  This is the Punisher you've been wanting as well.  Violent, bloody and bad guys dropping like flies.  Becky Cloonan wrote a spectacular first issue.  She introduces characters that I foresee being regulars within the series.  This can be an important element with a character like The Punisher who really has one thing on his mind: killing bad guys.

I'm a huge fan of Steve Dillon and was super excited when I found out he was doing the interior art.  Dillon captures everything I love about the Punisher and the way he draws the interesting ways The Punisher kills people is an absolute joy.  Frank Martin compliments the art well with extraordinary colors.

Declan Shalvey and Jordan Bellaire did the cover for issue one.  I would not be opposed to them doing each cover.  I loved their work on Moon Knight and to see their incredible art on Punisher covers each month would be a treat.

What are your thoughts on The Punisher?  What other books would you
