Code Name: Danger - Comic Book Review

I picked this comic book up a short while ago and decided to finally give it a read. I didn't know anything about the characters, story or series. So after reading something completely unfamiliar, I decided to write this review. So let's dive in and take a look at my thoughts on "Code Name: Danger" folks.

The art work really took me back to years long ago. For me, it looks so classic or vintage it felt like I was reading something over 20 years old and after completing the issue I discovered it was. The date in the back of the comic was 1985! I was quite happy that I didn't realize it was as old as it is. That increased my appreciation for the art work so much. The colors, the style, the action scenes were so much fun from a nostalgia point of view. This was a visually delightful surprise.

As I was reading this issue I kept thinking to myself how much this reads like an 1980's action movie. The story is to the point, the dialogue is direct, the men sound like soldiers and the bad guys all speak with zero emotion except panic once the action begins. The heros are a strategist, a ninja, a prostitute & a guy who has super powers. I mean, come on. This comic book might as well be a 1980's action movie starring Arnold or Stallone. It was such a fun read and the issue is literally filled with dialogue on every page.

If you ever find this issue in a $1 or less bin I'd recommend picking it up if you're old enough to remember the 1980's. If you aren't & want a small sample of entertainment in the 80's this would be a fun read. You might not get hooked but it's a nice change of pace if you aren't reading a lot of comics from the 80's.
