Deathgasm

Written and Directed:  Jason Lei Howden

Staring: Milo Cawthorne, James Blake, Kimberley Crossman

Synopsis: Two teenage boys unwittingly summon an ancient evil entity known as the The Blind One by delving into black magic while trying to escape their mundane lives.

The Good:
Deathgasm is everything you would want a gory B horror movie to be. Jason Lei Howden finds some creative new ways to make you say “oh my god” all while laughing at the same time. Plus, there is no shortage of blood in this, so if you need to see that bright red liquid fly across your screen this is the movie for you.  Overall it’s easy to watch and some of the fighting scenes are way better than expected… partially because of the weapons used for the fighting, you just can’t stop laughing.

The Bad:
While it is expected to be in the movie, the love story over all was probably not needed. At times it felt like it didn’t really fit at all, except to use up some time in the movie. Lets be real here though, if you’re watching this movie and you are worried about that kind of character development, that probably means you shouldn’t be watching this movie.

Overall:

All in all, the movie wasn’t a waist. I got some good laughs and I didn’t hesitate to tell friends about some of the ridiculous stuff that took place in the film. Seriously, death by dildos will always make me laugh… like always.  Also kudos to the cast, over all they did a pretty good job from a comedic standpoint on the film, which over all makes the film flow pretty well. Las but not least, I’ve got to give recognition to the props department on this movie. I imagine the budget wasn’t crazy on this film and they still managed to pull off some pretty cool effects.
