The Binge Watcher Review: The Masked Saint (2016)

The Masked Saint (2016)

Starring:
Brett Granstaff, Lara Jean Chorostecki, T.J. McGibbon, Diahann Carroll, Roddy Piper, James Preston Rogers, Mykel Shannon Jenkins, Danielle Benton, Jen Pogue

Synopsis:
A pastor and professional wrestler accepts a position at a struggle church where he helps the community both in his official capacity and as his alter ego The Saint.

The Good:
The wresting scenes were great, it made it feel like I was watching WWE. The acting was perfect for the movie and the story itself was solid.

The Bad:
When I went into this movie I was expecting a more Vigilante  type film, This movie was more of the Faith base type of film.

Final Thoughts:
I went into this film expecting action and when the movie was over I realized it was about religion and faith in god. The interesting part was this was based on a book which was based on the true life of the wrestling The Saint and how he came a Pastor after his wrestling career was over.

The other great moment was being able to enjoy Rowdy Roddy Piper one last time. This was one of the last projects he worked on before he past last summer. Being a Wrestling fan since I was 5 years old, Piper was a big part of my early childhood. This was nice to see him being able to entertain just one last time.

Ultimately this was a religious film and I am not sure how I felt about it when everything was said and one. But even though this movie wasn’t my cup of tea, it was well done and entertaining. I strongly suggest watching it, but realize what your getting yourself into first.

I give this Two Thumbs Up, Let us know what your thoughts of the movie where and leave your comments below.
