The Binge Watcher Review: The Final Girls

The Final Girls (2015)
Starring:
Taissa Farmiga, Malin Akerman, Adam Devine, Alexander Ludwig, Nina Dobrev, Thomas Middleditch

Synopsis:
A young woman grieving the loss of her mother, a famous scream queen from the 1980’s finds herself pulled into the world of her mom’s famous movie, Reunited, the women must fight off the film’s maniacal killer.

The Good:
If you are a fan of the 80’s Slasher film genre than this is the movie for you. It has everything from Cheesy lines to hot girls in bikinis…Oh and Adam Devine.

The Bad:
The movie is only bad if you don’t like throw backs to the days of great slasher films. Obviously this isn’t going to win any awards and it really hits at some points with the cheesy vibe.

Final Thoughts:
This film was exactly what I needed over a boring weekend. It was a great example that studios can still make entertaining slasher flicks. This movie also had an interesting twist which aloud it to also at the same time make fun of the genre it was trying to imitate.

The scene stealer of the movie was non other than Adam DeVine, he has amazing comic timing and makes me wonder why there are not more comedies with him in them.

This is a must see movie, rent it or buy it you won’t be disappointed. It is everything that its suppose to be and it never takes itself to seriously. I give “The Final Girls” Two Thumbs Up. Let us know your thoughts of the movie and leave your comments below.
