Comic Book Review: Poe Dameron #2 - Marvel Comics (2016)

The First Order are on the hunt for Poe Dameron and are on the verge of finding his whereabouts.  We also get to learn more about Agent Terex, who leads the ground troops looking for Poe Dameron.

Issue two is a nice follow up to issue one.  We get a few pages featuring Agent Terex, the person leading the hunt for Poe Dameron.  We discover his feelings about the differences of the Empire and the First Order.  The action hits pretty hard at the end leaving me ready for issue three.

The art looks great.  Phil Noto gets the faces right, especially Poe Dameron.  The landscapes look really good as well.  There are a few locations in this book so Noto definitely had his work cut out for him.

Comic Book Review: Poe Dameron #1 - Marvel Comics (2016)

Poe Dameron is the greatest pilot in the galaxy and General Leia Organna has sent him on a mission to find Lor San Tekka.  Lor San Tekka may be the only person who may know the whereabouts of General Organna's brother, Luke Skywalker.  Poe Dameron puts together a team and this adventure is on it's way.

I really enjoyed the start of this book.  This series leads into the beginning of Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, where Poe Dameron meets Lor San Tekka.  For those of you that like a complete story, check this book series out.  Charles Soule is an incredible writer and he really captures the essence of Poe Dameron as every line, I felt like I actually heard his voice.  You also get BB-8 and Soule finds a way to make the actions and sound effects feel like you're watching and hearing the little droid.

Phil Noto's art compliments Soule's writing remarkably well.  The facial expressions and the overall look of Poe Dameron looks just like Oscar Isaac, the actor who plays him.  Leia and the rest of the cast of this book look spectacular as well the planets and ships throughout the book.

Poe Dameron #1 also came with a mini story at the end.  BB-8 helps two individuals find each other in a way only BB-8 would do.

This was a fun little story.  BB-8 playing matchmaker while looking like a pest was really quite clever.  I liked the very cartoon-like look as it fits the light-hearted story.
