Supergirl Review: Season 2 Episode 6 "Changing"

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 6
“Changing”

Starring:
Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Floriana Lima, Chris Wood, David Harewood, Brenda Strong, Sharon Leal, William Mapother, Nikohl Boosheri

Synopsis:
The Guardian arrives to lend a hand when an Alien parasite drains Supergirl of her Power. Mon-El contemplates his motives when he considers a new Career. Alex faces a new reality.

Final Thoughts:
The episode see an Alien parasite take over a human body and start to attack civilians. Both J’onn J’onzz and supergirl go to the stop the alien when both of their powers are taken from them. While Supergirl was able to recover before the end of the episode Martian Manhunter was not so lucky and needed the help of M’gann M’orzz.

A lot of this episode centered on the growth of Mon-El and Alex Danvers character. While one was searching for his place on this new planet and whether he wants to be a hero or not. The other, Alex, was learning more about her self and who she is becoming.

This was an interesting episode, I am loving what they are doing with both Alex and Mon-El, however I am still not sure about James Olsen, which we saw become the Guardian. While growth development was great for most of the characters, it is becoming more and more apparent that the shows creators have no clue as to how to save James Olsen. I guess that is what the rest of the season is for, but if we don’t get any more invested in this character it might be time to send him back to Metropolis and the Daily Planet.

Supergirl Review: Season 2 Episode 4 "Survivors"

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 4
“Survivors”

Starring:
Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Floriana Lima, Chris Wood, David Harewood, Laura Benanti, Sharon Leal, Katie McGrath, Dichen Lachman, Ian Gomez, John DeSantis

Synopsis:
When Kara and Alex investigate the murder of an unregistered alien, the trail leads to an alien fight club run by Roulette, the ringmaster who commands aliens to fight in mortal combat for the entertainment of rich humans. While trying to stop the fighting, Supergirl and Martian Manhunter find themselves up against a surprising opens. Meanwhile, Hank is thrilled to have found another Martian and tries to get to know M’Gann better. Supergirl takes Mon-El under her wing begins to train him.

Final Thoughts:
An interesting episode which is touching on Aliens and Humans co-existing on earth. In the 4th episode we see an Alien fight club pop  of being ran by a human, Roulette. Within the episode we saw the growing or struggling relationship between Miss Martian and Hank. This struggle ends with Hank being captured by Roulette and being forced to fight M’gann M’orzz

We are also slowly getting closer to Mon-El turning into a superhero. Mon-El just wants to get out, he was also intrigued by the idea of Wynn’s to become a superhero. The only issues is kara want nothing to do with him. But that seemed to change toward the end of the episode. It will be interesting to see the training. hopefully we get a rocky montage.

Its been a few weeks since we have seen any sign of a season villain, not sure where we are with that, each week has been its own episode, each weeks villains seem week and its been kinda disappointing. Although I do appreciated the build up of each character.

Supergirl Review: Season 2 Episode 3 "Welcome to Earth"

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 3
“Welcome to Earth”

Starring:
Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, Floriana Lima, Chris Wood, David Harewood, Lynda Carter, Sharon Leal, Katie McGrath, Nadine Crocker, Ian Gomez

Synopsis:
Supergirl and the DEO are assigned to protect the President when an attack on her causes Alien VS. human rights in National City to heat up. Alex investigates the case with Maggie Sawyer while Kara fears Mon-El may be resonsible.

Final Thoughts:
As we saw at the end of last weeks episode Mon-El finally wakes. When the episode start up we see he has the same super powers as Supergirl. For those that don’t know Mon-El is a Draxamite who become a Superhero inspired by Superboy. Unlike Superman and Supergirl who are affected by Kryptonite, People from Draxum are affected by Lead.Obviously there will be twist to the telling of this character due to the characters currently available from the CW Universe, but judging on how the ending of the episode it currently looks like Supergirl will soon have another superhuman on her side.

As we saw Lynda Carter finally made her appearance as the president in last night episode, she was in National City to push  a bill to allow alien refuge in America. Her presence was used perfectly for the episode and loved the little nod to her previous character wonder woman. The twist came towards the end of the episode when we get the eye tease allowing us to believe we have another alien, who in this case is running the country.

Finally, did we every believe the day we would get the live action appearance of Martian Manhunter. I know I never thought we would, however I was even more surprised by the introduction of non other than M’gann M’orzz Miss Martian.

Supergirl continues to surprise this season, after so many missed episode from last season. Make sure you catching these episode as they are slowly becoming must see to go along with the rest of the CW DC Line up. Let us know your thoughts of episode 3 and leave your comments below.
