The Flash Review: Season 3 Episode 4 "The New Rogues"

The Flash Season 3 Episode 4
“The New Rogues”

Starring:
Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Keiynan Lonsdale, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Wentworth Miller, Violett Beane, Danielle Nicolet, Grey Damon, Ashley Rickards

Synopsis:
Barry continues to train Jesse and when a new meta human, Mirror Master, appears on the scene he lets her tag along. Mirror Master has teamed up with his old partner, Top, and is looking for Snart to even a Score. Jesse is quick to join the chase but defies one of Barry’s orders which results in disastrous consequences.

Final thoughts:
It seems like we were finally introduced to a quality villain, however the episode didn’t really live up to that billing. Mirror Master has the potential to be a great villain, hopefully we see him again in the future in an episode which isn’t crammed with so much character development. What was nice about this episode was the tie to Snart, its been a few episodes now since we saw him last. I am waiting to see where he finally pops up and we know he will.

Now to the positive of the episode, we finally get Jesse suiting up as Jesse Quick, the episode saw her starting to learn the rope for being a superhero. Obviously there were many learning experiences, but one of the best parts was when Barry quotes Oliver. Due to Jesse’s eagerness, Barry ends up trapped in a mirror, Trying to get him free, the team needs a way to freeze the mirror. This is when we finally get a glimpse of Caitlin’s powers as Killer Frost.

Was anyone else as sad to see Harry leave to head back to Earth-2? I know we are getting another Harrison Wells in the form of HR. Who I am guessing will turn to be more evil than good. But How about Harry, I know we will see him again but it would have been nice to have a little more time with this version of the character. Harry has slowly grown on me since he debuted in Season 2. Hopefully I am not wrong, cause not only do we loose Harry, but that also means the lose of Jesse Quick. Two episodes don’t even see long enough for those characters.

Finally the episode ended with more of the transformation of Caitlin into Killer Frost, what will be interesting is, does caitlin finally turn evil or will she become part of the team going forward.

The Flash Review: Season 3 Episode 3 "Magenta"

The Flash Season 3 Episode 3
“Magenta”

Starring:
Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Keiynan Lonsdale, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Tom Felton, Violett Beane, Joey King, Peter Flemming

Synopsis:
Barry and Team Flash are thrilled to reunited with Earth-2 Wells and Jesse. Wells Confides to Barry and Caitlin that Jesse has all the powers of a speedster and has been saving people on his Earth. He is concerned about her safety and wants them to talk her out of using her powers. Meanwhile, Magenta, a new meta who can control metal, terrorizes the city.

Final Thoughts.
This was a fun episode, we finally get Harrison Wells back, and it seems this season he has a new attitude. One that actually makes the show that much better….if that is even possible. We also finally get a new speedster in the form of Jesse, but before she become Jesse Quick she will need to convince her father to let her be a hero. At first I had reservations about the new speedsters, and maybe that had something to do with the attitude of Wally, but I seem to be more open and to a certain degree excited to see what Jesse Brings to the show.

Speaking of Wally, this episode really focused on his want to become a meta with powers in order to help people. This is going to be an interesting story due to his jealousy of Barry and Jesse’s powers. But the end of the episode we see he learns how the other Meta’s from Flashpoint are getting their powers…Alchemy. This seems to be leading to Wally asking for powers soon, but with consequences.

Obviously we had a new Meta hero, but that was hardly a story for episode 3. This episode obviously was made to use to develop all the other stories, like the budding relationship between Iris and Barry. I am not sure how I feel about the fact their seems to be issues already, I know like most I am already worried this relationship may head down the same path as Oliver and Felicty.

So the question has to be which are you more excited about, Jessi Quick or Kid Flash? Leave your comments below.
