The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 18 "Versus Zoom"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 18
“Versus Zoom”

Synopsis:
Equipped with the Tachyon device, Barry believes he is fast enough to stop Zoom and wants to open the breaches to catch him. Harry strongly advises against that plan but after Barry convinces him, Harry reveals that Cisco has the power to re-open the breach. Meanwhile, Hunter Solomon’s painful Story on Earth-2 is revealed.

Review:
Barry and team are working to become faster, we are introduced while trying to test the Tachyon device which allowed him to jump over to Supergirl’s Earth. Once Barry figures out that he is now faster than Zoom, he wants to jump to Earth-2 but Harrison Wells is refusing to assist with opening the breaches.

Barry Figures the only way to jump between Earths is with the Help of Cisco, figuring he has the same powers that reverb had on Earth-2. At first Cisco refuses to assist, believing that the powers he has will eventually turn him evil like his doppelgänger. After some reassuring from Barry, Cisco agrees to help.

With the help of Wells the Team learns about the sinister acts of Zooms true identity, using this against him the team is able to capture Zoom. Unfortunately the team is unable to keep him locked up and Zoom escapes and kidnaps Wally.

The only way to get Wally back is the trade Barry’s speed force for him.

Final Thoughts:
Slowly this season we are getting more and more into Cisco and his powers, love the fact that he keeps getting stronger. It will be interesting to see where the creative team takes Cisco through the rest of the season and into next.

Another great episode, it will be interesting to see where they take this through the next few episodes. Will Barry capture Zoom to regain his speed, or has the speed force really left Barry? I know for myself I am hoping that the speed force will come back naturally allowing Barry to become a great hero.

Once again there is a bigger tease which left many wondering who is actually under the IronMask in Zooms lair. One aspect which hasn’t been touched on is if the man might be the original Flash for the early 90’s show, we did see this during the travel back in time scene. The same scene which showed us Supergirl.

This show just keeps getting better each week, Let us know what your thoughts of the show are and leave your comments below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 17 "Flash Back"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 17
“Flash Back”

Synopsis:
After the shocking revelation of Zoom’s real identity, Barry is more determined than ever to get back to Earth-2 to stop Zoom forever. Desperate to find a way to increase his speed, Barry decides to travel back in time and masquerade as his earlier self in order to get his arch-nemesis, Dr. Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne, to teach him how to run faster. However, things do not go as planned and Barry is stunned to face familiar foe Hartley Rathaway, as well as old friend Eddie Thane. Iris makes peace with her past in order to embrace her future.

Review:
With Barry working effortlessly trying to increase his speed, he decides that the only way to become faster is to go back in time and learn from the Reverse Flash. Things go wrong when Barry comes across a Time Wraith and shows up at the wrong time in the past.

Due to the strange behavior of Barry, Dr. Wells figures out he is from the future. While Barry is trying to convince Thawne to help him become faster, the Time Wraith attacks Star Labs. Cisco and Caitlin have to rely on Hartely who is currently being held, for help.

The end of the episode see the past Barry help Future Barry travel back to the Future where the Time Wraith followed and attacked Barry. With the timeline ultimately effected it was Hartley Rathaway who was there to save the day.

Final Thoughts:
Another great episode of The Flash, I love the time travel episodes and this one was especially great due to the fact that we got to see Future and Past Barry’s working together. We also got to see the effects of time travel effecting the timeline when Hartley was there at the end to help save Barry.

It was also great to see the return of the Eobard Thawne/Dr. Wells character return. There has been a part of me that has ultimately missed that version of Wells.

Finally its kinda amazing how The Flash and Arrow are so different with how they have developed their leading Ladies. With Arrow, I feel ultimately I end up disliking them, where as with The Flash Iris comes across as likable. It just goes to show you how great The Flash really is.

I give this episode Two Thumbs Up, Let us know what your thoughts of the episode were and leave your comments below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 16 "Trajectory"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 16
“Trajectory”

Synopsis:
Trajectory arrives in town intent on creating maximum chaos. Trajectory’s antics are misinterpreted as having been perpetrated by The Flash himself. Barry must thus act quickly to uncover the mystery of who is causing damage in which others think it is him, and what may be driving their mad desire for speed and destruction.

Review:
With the team exhausted trying to increase Barry’s speed, they decide to go out, this is where we meet Trajectory, who starts to cause havoc across the city making the public believe it is The Flash. The team believes that it is Eliza Harmon, a scientist which Caitlin reached out to for help on Velocity 9. With Barry unable to catch her, he contemplates using the serum in order to increase his own speed. This was until Harrison Wells talks him out of it. With her increase use of Velocity 9, Trajectory runs so fast that she ends up evaporating due to the side effects.

Meanwhile during the episode, we learn that Cisco is also vibing, in this case its on Zoom. While trying to figure out what caused Trajectory to evaporate, they start to connect the dots and which all point to Jay. They use Jay’s helmet to allow Cisco to vibe and finally learn his real identity of Zoom.

Final Thoughts:
After a few weeks on Hiatus, The Flash is back. A very solid episode, but as is the case of all villains which didn’t get there name from Cisco Trajectory was weak. But in the end this episode was more about revealing who Zoom really is than it was about the villain.

I am disappointed that Jesse will no longer be part of show, I was interested to see what her character was going to bring to the team. As in many cases, chances are she will return some where down the road.

As said before this was a solid episode, but only worth One Thumbs Up. Not due to anything being bad but more as a result of the season we have been given. So many great episodes not all can be Two Thumbs Up. Let us know what your thoughts of the episode are and leave your comment below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 14 "Escape From Earth-2"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 14
“Escape From Earth-2”

Synopsis:
On Earth-2, the team asks for help from an unexpected source to find Zoom’s Lair, while on Earth-1, Caitlin tries to perfect Velocity-9 so Jay can stop the Geomancer.

Review:
With Barry caught and locked up in Zoom’s lair, Zoom is now out looking for Wells. In order to find the Lair of Zoom, Wells and Cisco use Earth-2’s Barry and Iris to track down Killer Frost. Once she has been captured she leads the team to where barry is being held and assist with keeping Zoom from Killing Jesse. The episode ends with Barry, Wells, Cisco and Jesse returning to Earth-1, but before the collapse of the remaining breach Zoom grabs Jay and pulls him back to Earth-2.

Final Thoughts:
Another stellar performance by Grant Gustin, his ability to portray the complete opposite qualities of both Barry’s has been some of the best acting on the show.

We finally learned a little more about the man in the masked locked up in Zooms Lair. We learn that his name might be Jay, leaving us to wonder who Jay Garrick really is, Is Garrick just another man from Earth-2 working with Zoom? Is the real Garrick trapped with Zoom? so many questions, but I don’t believe that Garrick is Zoom as some of the internet community is predicting.

So now with the breach closed and with Wells and Jesse back on earth one, they can work on a way to finally defeat Zoom. The only positive with the breach being closed is that the crossover with Supergirl is starting to look more like they will be sharing Earth-1 with each other.

I give this episode Two Thumbs Up, Let us know your prediction of who Zoom might be and leave your comments below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 13 "Welcome To Earth-2"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 13
“Welcome to Earth-2”

Synopsis:
Barry, Wells and Cisco travel to Earth-2 to rescue Jesse from Zoom. They find Killer Frost and Deathstorm whom are Caitlin and Ronnie on Earth-1. Meanwhile Jay takes Barry’s responsibility on defending Central City from a Meta human called Geomancer

Review:
With the trio traveling to Earth-2 in order to save Jesse from Zoom, Barry encounters his Earth-2 self. This causes a distraction from there own mission with Barry learning that the Earth-2 version of himself is Married to Iris and she is the captian of the police force. Meanwhile Killerfrost and Deathstorm learn that people have crossed over. This leads to a face off between the speedster and Zooms thugs. After barry is beat down by Deathstorm and Cisco of earth-2, Zoom shows and take him back to his prison.

Final Thoughts:
Oh how this episode had so much in it. Loved all the interesting tie ins within the DC universe. First we get to see Floyd Lawton AKA Deadshot from Arrow. Its nice to be reintroduced to one of my favorite characters from the first two season of Arrow. Then we get a nice little easter egg when Barry goes to Call his mother, the phone had a speed dial set for Hal, Diana and Bruce. This is obviously in reference to Hal Jordan, Bruce Wayne and Wonder Woman. I love the fact that The Flash does such a wonderful job of placing easter eggs referencing multiple characters from the DC Universe.

Overall this was the type of episode you would expect, its also a wonderful way of introducing Killer Frost and Deathstorm without ruining the character development that they created with Caitlin and Ronnie. This episode also shows the wonderful  job that Grant Gustin does jumping between serious, emotional scenes and humor.

I give this episode Two Thumbs Up, another solid episode. Let us know your thoughts and leave a comment below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 12 "Fast Lane"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 12
“Fast Lane”

Synopsis:
Barry Tries to team up with Dr. Harrison Wells but finds out Harrison prefers working alone. The Flash fights a new Meta-Human. Iris researches her brother’s drag racing. Dr. Wells starts stealing Barry’s speed.

Review:
So there is a new Meta-Human in town, Tar-pit. Barry is trying to stop the new meta but encounters issues when Wells starts to steal the speed force for Zoom. After a show down with Tar-pit which ends up putting Iris in an hospital, Wells guilt leads him to confessing that he was in the middle of stealing the speed force. While locked up Barry convinces the team that they should help harrison, in order to save his Daughter who is trapped by Zoom in Earth-2.

Final thoughts:
After a few more somber episode of The Flash, we are back to the more light hearted show which everyone loves. Once again we are treated to the humor of the show. Loved the scene where Cisco asked looking for confirmation who the best hacker is and was greeted to the response from Caitlin and Barry of Felicity Smoak. This show does a wonderful job of always referring back to Arrow. Nice nod and recognition to the show which made all of this possible.

So Wells has found a way to steal the speed force and uses it to draw the powers from Barry, interesting development. Its also nice to see that Wells from Earth-2 has a conscience. I am glad they are not making him evil this season and really looking forward to how he will ultimately help Barry defeat Zoom. The next few episodes will be great to watch, as it looks like the team will be traveling to Earth-2. I am sure this will lead to Killer Frost and the return of Robbie Amell.

We were treated to some great news, as we will see a crossover with Supergirl in March. Can’t wait, love the crossover and love the fact that CW and CBS will be working together on this. On a personal note, Cox Communications is currently in a fight with CW over broadcasting fee’s which is resulting in the blackout. What does this mean for all of you, well its a delay in these awesome reviews until we are able to view on Hulu.

This episode gets Two Thumbs Up, leave your comments below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 10 "Potential Energy"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 10
“Potential Energy”

Synopsis:
Now that they’ve grown closer, Barry considers telling Patty that he is The Flash. Meanwhile, Joe and Iris try to get to know Wally, and the team hunts down a meta-human who can slow time itself.

Review:
Finally back from the mid season hiatus, the newest episode of The Flash starts with Barry having a nightmare about Zoom taking Patty and killing her. These dreams are starting to have an effect on the relationship causing Barry to be somewhat distant. While trying to deal with his relationship problems the team at Star Labs have decided the best way to combat Zoom is by stealing the powers of another Meta Human who has the ability to slow everything around him down. When everything is all said and done, Barry was able to capture “The Turtle” but in the process ends up loosing the girl before he is able to tell Patty that he is The Flash.

Also during this episode Joe is dealing with trying to get to know the son he never knew about, Wally. The only issue Wally is pushing Joe away. Joe follows Wally and learns about his street racing in order to pay for his mothers medical bills.

Final Thoughts:
I am not sure how I feel about this episode yet.  We know that Harrison Wells needs to figure out a way to increase the speed of Barry, only to help when he learns of The Turtle and his meta power of being able to slow everything around him. By the end of the episode Harrison is seen stealing some fluids from the brain of The Turtle. Is this to help Barry or use against Barry? only time will tell but its interesting to see that Earth-2’s Wells tows the line between good and evil.

I am also not sure about the new route the creative team has decided to take between Barry and Patty. I was a big fan of this relationship, mostly cause it no longer involved Iris. I will wait to see if this comes back around and how it will effect the rest of the season. But I am also glad that we didn’t get another person with in the show that learned about Barry’s secret life as The Flash.

Finally, whats up with Wally West? Will he be around in the future? so many questions left un answered, however I do find it interesting that Wally has a thing for speed and seems to be one of the fastest street racers. Hopefully this means at some point Wally shows his abilities of the Speed force.

This was a solid episode and it really is setting up the remainder of Season 2. I give this episode “One Thumbs Up”. Let us know what your thoughts of the episode are and leave a comment below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 8 "Legends Of Today"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 8
“Legends Of Today”

Synopsis:
In its second major crossover event with “Arrow,” Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump) arrives in Central City and sets his sights on Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara RenĂ©e). After Vandal attacks Kendra and Cisco (Carlos Valdes), they turn to Barry (Grant Gustin) for help. Realizing how dangerous Vandal is, Barry takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver and team to hide her until he can figure out how to stop Vandal. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when a man with wings AKA Hawkman (guest star Falk Hentschel) shows up and flies off with Kendra. Meanwhile, Harrison (Tom Cavanagh) develops a serum to make Barry run faster and asks Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) to test it out.

Review:
Finally its here the crossover episode with Arrow. We are introduced to Vandal Savage when he was captured as a stow away on a ship which arrived on the docks of Central City. Right from the start we see that he has powers in the same way as Damien Dark. While on a date Cisco and Kendra Saunders are attacked by Savage. Flash was able to get there to save the day and decides the best course of actions is to reach out to there friends in Star City for more assistance.

When we are introduced to Green Arrow and team, they are facing off with Damien Darhk and his Ghost Army. Flash shows up to save the day. While the team is trying to keep Kendra safe we are finally introduced to Hawkman who fly’s off with Kendra. Both he and Kendra are supposedly soul mates who continue to be reincarnated when they die, each time they have died it was due to Savage. He is haunting them down within each reincarnation due to the powers he receives from killing them both.

Also through the episode we learn that Harrison Wells has a formula that may help increase the speed of Barry. Wells needs Caitlin’s help in order to get the formula to work. The formal is ultimately tested on Jay Garrick in order to save the life of Wells after Patty shot him after following Wells back to Star Labs.

Final Thoughts:
There was so much in the episode it was Awesome. Malcolm shows up to offer his advice on Savage. Here is to hoping that he will be part of the Arrow half of the crossover. Cisco gets the honor of naming Hawkgirl. Did anyone else love when Hawkman called Oliver Robin Hood? I am interested to see how the second half will play out not only do we know this is ultimately the tie into Legends of Tomorrow, but I am intrigued to see how the ending of the Flash will play out. Oliver sees the former girlfriend who had his kid he never knew about. We had a record 4 episode without getting Berlanti-ed but that came to an end when Kendra was told about The Flash’s secreted identity, I am guessing this will happen again with Patty as there will be some explaining to why Harrison Well is still alive.

This was another great episode and I am loving the crossovers. This DC Television Universe is by far the best and in my opinion is more enjoyable than what we get with Marvel. I also loved how many characters were shown in this episode.

I give this an ecstatic Two Thumbs Up. Please let us know what your thoughts on the episode are, leave your comments below.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 7 "Gorilla Warfare"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 7
“Gorilla Warfare”

Synopsis:
Grodd returns to Central City and kidnaps Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). Barry (Grant Gustin) and team race to find her before it’s too late. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) plans his first date with the new barista at Jitters, Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara RenĂ©e) and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) begins to suspect Barry is hiding something from her.

Review:
Episode 7 starts with Barry learning how to walk after Zoom breaks his back. The effects from Zoom took a mental toll which played out through the show. Barry was questioning his ability to save the city and what everyone thought of their hero. In order to help get Barry back to being the Flash, Iris decided to bring Barry’s Dad Harry back to town. Its always nice to have Harry back on the show. While Barry is recovering we have Harrison Wells trying to go back to Earth-2 only to have Caitlin appose that decision wanting Wells to stay and help the Team defeat Zoom.

The main advisory for this episode is Grodd, he is back and wanting to create more gorilla’s like himself. In order to do this Grodd kidnaps Caitlen in order to help replicate the explosion which created him. Due to Barry still being hesitant to put the Flash suit back on, the team decides the best way to get Caitlin back is to have Wells wear the reverse flash suit to make Grodd believe his father is back. While the plan succeeds the team still has to find a way to deal with Grodd. Harrison Wells come up with the plan to send Grodd to Earth-2, as they have a place which was made to send Gorilla’s with Grodds powers so they can be together. The only way for this to work is for Barry to become Flash once again and with the encouragement from his father. Barry is able to send Grodd through one of the rips between the earths. (Did anyone get a Planet of the Apes vibe from Earth-2 preserve?)

Final thoughts on Episode 7, the writers for Flash always do a fantastic job of never drawing story’s out past what is necessary. This is definitely the case for this episode. They dealt with Barry’s inability to walk and his fear all in this show and it never felt rushed. Also love that Cisco had a date with Kendr Saunders, and when they touched Cisco vibed on her getting an image of what at first looked like Hawkman. Later, at the end of the episode when he vibes again he see that its not a man with wings but Kendra. Its our first look at Hawkgirl. Tell me your not even more excited for the Cross over episodes of Arrow and Flash? or for that matter the new series legends of tomorrow? Also at the end of this episode, Joe West tells Iris how he sometimes gets jealous of Barry and his dad and wishes he  had a son. How soon until we meet Wally West? Will he have the speed force?

Seeing Harrison Wells in the reverse flash suite was Awesome, love being able to revisit that character and absolutely got that creep factor when Wells repeated the line from season one about Cisco being like a son. We all know this isn’t that last time we will see Grodd again, only will the next time be on Earth-1 or Earth-2? and how many more Grodds will we be introduce to when we are reintroduced again.

It was nice not to have another Berlanti moment in this episode, surprisingly that is two DC shows in a row which no one learned a secret identified. Pretty sure this is a record of some kind. I am only waiting until Barry tells Patty his secret. It seems like they are leading to this happening sooner rather than later.

This was a very solid Episode, its hard to follow up to what may be the best episode of the series. But the creative team continues with solid story’s keeping the show fun to watch each week. I give this episode Two Thumbs Up

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 6 "Enter Zoom"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 6
“Enter Zoom”

Synopsis:
After recent events, Barry (Grant Gustin) decides it’s time to confront Zoom and comes up with a dangerous plan. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) sides with Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) and deems it too dangerous for Barry to engage with the speed demon. However, Iris (Candice Patton) shows her support and brings forth a surprising ally. We see what Earth-2 Harrison Wells’ (Tom Cavanagh) life was like before coming through the breech.

Review:
What a episode, talk about the ramp up. This episode is about Barry and team trying to capture Zoom. They decided to use linda to dress up as Dr. Light and draw Zoom to Earth-1. While the team is trying to set up this trap, Cisco vibes on Harrison Wells daughter being in-prison by Zoom. Its now obvious the Wells is using Barry to beat Zoom, which is later confirmed in the episode. We also see that the relationship between Barry and Patty is getting more serious in this episode while Patty senses that Joe is keeping a secret about the Meta-Humans. Obviously this is going to lead to a crossroads at some point this season. Most likely leading to Patty finding out that Barry is The Flash. You might wonder how I came to outlandish prediction……Well as we have seen through season one and even in tonights episode when Barry Revealed to Linda that he is The Flash. Barry’s secret Identity isn’t so secret.

At the end of the episode we were treated to the Face off between Zoom and The Flash. Everything Barry threw at Zoom was thrown right back at Barry. After Zoom beat Barry into the ground he took The Flash to the media and the police department to show that he is the greatest speedster and the there is no one that can save central city. Once back at STAR Labs Zoom attempts to kill Barry, however before Zoom can, Cisco saves the day. When Barry finally wakes up we learn that he no longer can feel his legs.

Final Thoughts, Tonights episode was definitely the best of the season. The fight between Flash and Zoom was the face off we probably were robbed of from season one with Reverse Flash. The build up to the season finale is going to be that much greater because of this episode. So how long can we expect Barry to not have use of his legs, My prediction is we will see him regain use by the end of the next episode however we will most likely be reintroduce to Firestorm and given the chance to meet Hawkgirl for the first time. I am also intrigued now that Harrison Well thinks he has no use for Barry how this plays out. Wells is the wild card still and without learning who Zoom may be, Wells is still an option.

Its been great watching each episode this season. It seems like the writes have really learned from last season and made the improvement. The team has found a great balance with each character and found a way to make them relevant and important to the story. Much like Arrow this season, they have also found a way to not over shadow the main focus of the show with side stories.

This weeks Flash might have been one of the top episode from either season, this is not surprising but it is great to see that the creative team can keep improving. I am also loving the easter eggs and ties ins to the Arrow. I give this Episode Two Thumbs Up. Leave Your comments on the show below, we would love to hear your opinions.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 5 "The Darkness and the Light"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 5
“The Darkness and the Light”

Synopsis:
Barry (Grant Gustin) learns a new breacher, Dr. Light, has come through the portal and sets off to capture her. Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) tells Barry that Dr. Light was not a threat on Earth-2 and that Barry can reason with her. However, during a fight with The Flash, she blinds him and drops some shocking news about Zoom. Meanwhile, Barry and Patty (Shantel VanSanten) go out on a date.

Review:
Finally Harrison Well is officially back….Ok its Earth-2 Harrison Well but still its great to have him back. The Episode start with a Flash back of Earth-2, We learn Wells has created a way to determine whether a person is a MetaHuman. During this Flash back we also see Jay Garrick blame Wells for all the Meta-Humans. So Wells is responsible in both worlds for the creation of the meta humans, we also learned that Jay garrick and Wells have a contentious relationship. Wells arrival to Earth-1 causes Team Flash to deal with unresolved feelings left from the original. This is definitely going to be interesting in the upcoming weeks. I am intrigued to see if this storyline has the same twist and turns we saw during Season 1.

We are also introduce to Earth-2 villain Dr. Light (Linda Park) another meta-human sent by Zoom to kill Barry. Dr. Lights arrival causes the volatile relationship between Garrick and Wells to reach the boiling point and an all out brawl. This episode gives us more insight into Garrick and his psyche as a hero. I feel it also confirms original suspicion that Barry Allen is the center of the Speed force, as alluded to by Wells when telling Garrick that Barry is Faster than he ever was.

Finally the team has learned about Cisco’s powers when they were revealed by Wells. He also now has his new Hero Name Vibe. (the show continues to excite the comic book nerd in me, and I love the fact Barry came up with the name) I love that the team knows about Cisco, this will bring a new dimension to the team going forward and also enhance another main character who in my opinion might be the underrated star of the show. Its seems each week Cisco continues to steel scenes.

So what did we learn this week, well for now Wells is there to help Barry, time will tell if this is the truth or if there is something else to his arrival in Earth-1. The Last scene show that Well’s Daughter has been kidnapped by zoom, this obviously has some connection and from the way he acts its obvious that Wells is great at manipulating people around him for his gain. We learn that each Meta-human who has been sent to kill Barry also has the goal of killing there Earth-1 counterpart. As seen in this episode Caitlin Snow isn’t a Meta-Human, so does this mean Killer Frost will come from Earth 2? Will her goal be to find and take out Her counter part? What did we learn about Jay Garrick in this episode? is he truly a hero or is he just a coward who care more about his powers as Wells tried to convince everyone, We know he doesn’t think Barry can defeat Zoom and should avoid any confrontation. Finally it seems love was the underlying theme to this weeks show, as seem from Barry finally asking Patty out (which seems to have brought out some hints of jealousy from Iris) Caitlin and Jay have a moment and Cisco gets a Date with Kendra Saunders the barista a jitters. (Spoiler Alert) Will we see Saunders become Hawkgirl in the next few weeks, I definitely hope so.

Episode 5 was great, love the new Harrison Wells, love the slow burn of Zoom and excited for all the characters to come. Also how can't you just get excited everytime they say Multiverse. I give this Episode Two Thumbs Up

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 4 "The Fury of Firestorm"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 4
“The Fury of Firestorm”

Synopsis:
Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team look for another Firestorm match for Dr. Stein (Victor Garber). When the team meets Jefferson "Jax" Jackson (guest star Franz Drameh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) has her reservations about whether Jax is the right match for Dr. Stein. Iris (Candice Patton) surprises Joe (Jesse L. Martin) while Barry and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) grow closer.

Review:
Episode 4 is here and the goal of the show was to introduce the new Firestorm. The episode starts with the team trying to help Dr. Stein find his other half. This is where we are introduce to Caitlin’s choice, Henry Hewitt (Hewitt is know from his introduction in the DC universe through the New Earth Series) When the attempt to merge fails, Hewitt leave angry and we see that his meta human power has finally been revealed. Welcome to the Flash Universe Tokamak! This leaves only Barry’s choice of Jefferson Jackson and with that we now have the new Firestorm. I actually really enjoyed this part of the show, it gave us two choices one evil and the other good. When Jax finally accepts the offer to become Firestorm we like the person he is and will root for him to succeed. The disappointing aspect of the show is the departure of Dr. Stein from the team for awhile, he has been the calming influence and his interactions with Cisco have been great.

The other plot line through the first part of the season is the introduction of Iris’s Mother. This has definitely been a slow burn and as we learned in this episode Iris’s mother has another child who may or may not be the son of Joe. Is this how we will be introduced to Wally West? I believe we he will be and my guess is we will see him before the mid season finale.

Finally we have Harrison Wells, obviously he is from another earth where he is considered the savior. As the episode progressed we see Wells break into Mercury Labs to steal some unknown weapon. This leads to that ever so famous last scene of the show where not only are we introduce to the heavily hinted at Shark Man, but also Barry finally seeing Wells. So many questions and so many possibilities. What role will Shark Man play through out the season, obviously he was sent by Zoom but was he killed by Wells at the end? or will we see him again in the future? I am hoping in many ways Shark Man will be treated like Grodd. Also who is Harrison Wells? As we wait to see what will happen, I would like to express how great Wells is, in my opinion he might be right up there with Malcom Merlin as a great character/Villain. Wells is definitely interesting TV each week.

Episode 4 shows what a great fill in episode should be. The writers of Flash used this episode to help push ahead many different storylines which didn’t need the Flash to be the center point. Even the new love interest for Barry, Patty Spivot, was used as a nice subtle side story. I give this Episode Two Thumbs Up,

Leave comments below on your opinion of Episode 4.

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 3 "Family Of Rogues"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 3
“Family of Rogues”

Synopsis:

When Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team find out Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) has been kidnapped, they form an uneasy alliance with his sister, Lisa (guest star Peyton List). However, Barry feels double-crossed when he finds out Snart is working with his father, Lewis Snart (guest star Michael Ironside) on a heist. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is faced with a difficult decision.
Review:
What do you get when Captain Cold Makes an appearance on The Flash? Basically the best episode of the season thus far! The episode starts with Lisa Snart trying to find the flash to help save her kidnapped brother Captain Cold. Barry decides to team up with Snart to help while Cisco works to remove the bomb from the head of Lisa. By the end of the episode Captian Cold get revenge on his father for “breaking his sisters heart”, and finally The Flash is able to place Captain Cold in prison. So what did we learn about the Snart Family? Well both Golden Glider and Captain Cold work with a moral set codes while the patriarch of the Family Lewis Snart is a different type of evil with no moral code willing to kill anyone who gets in his way or has no use for. This episode is definitely the set up for “Legends of Tomorrow” as we see with the final interaction between Barry and Captian Cold, while Barry is visiting Snart in prison he lets him know that he see’s good in him and its only a matter of time before he makes a change. And Snarts reply of “Should I be a Hero Like you” how could you not just get excited for whats to come. I can’t wait to see how this plays out until “LOT”. (By the way, isn’t the casting of Wentworth Miller as Snart just a masterful choice by the Creative team of The Flash)

The other storylines which played out through out episode 3, we see Iris learn about her mother being alive, how this affects the rest of the season will be interesting to see. I am guessing we will be introduced to Wally West, will he also have the speed force if we see him? Barry seems to be getting a new love interest in Patty Spivot, how will this affect his relationship with Iris? this will be interesting to follow, as the creators of Flash have done a decent job of making the audience like Iris again after pushing her away last season. Also we finally get more details on the worm holes opening up through out central city as we see Jay Garrick work to stabilize the biggest of the worm holes in the basement of Star Labs, will we see Barry travel to Earth-2 this season? I believe we will, but how will this affect his speed force, will he loose his like Jay Garrick did? A lot of questions and hopefully we will get more answers through the rest of the season.

As has been for every episode of The Flash, the highly anticipated last scene gave all the fans what they wanted the most. The Return of Harrison Wells through the newly stabilize worm hole (Let the fan boys scream with Excitement). Personally I can’t wait to see how this will play out. I know I am hoping for a good Wells but admittedly I am leaning towards Wells being ZOOM!
This episode was everything you could want, it brought that excitement which I have felt was missing in first two shows. I give this a definite TWO THUMBS UP!!

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 2 "The Flash Of Two Worlds"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 2
“The Flash Of Two Worlds”

Synopsis:
Jay Garrick (guest star Teddy Sears), a mysterious man from Earth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantal VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force.

Review:
It seems this season of The Flash will be jam packed, in the second episode we get more of Jay Garrick, we are introduced to Zoom, details on the powers of Cisco, Flash learns a new ability, We get multi Earths, we are introduced to Patty Spivot…..New Love Interest of Barry Allen? and Harrison Wells is BACK.

So Jay Garrick is Earth-2 Flash, however it seems he has lost the speed force with his entry into Earth-1. This leave’s the question can there only be one Flash? I am not so sure, from the stand point of the show it looks like the speed force will revolve around Barry. He will be the center of this DC Comic Universe. As for Garrick, until his powers are found he will play the mentor figure to Barry Allen, as seen when he teaches Barry to throw lighting in order to defeat the Sand Demon. So now we have the crimson comet and the scarlet speedster together. Didn’t you just nerd out when both were decked out in there respected Flash Suits? I know I did.

What did we learn about Zoom this week, well he will be out to Kill Earth-1’s Barry Allen, he is currently consider the most dangerous villain which Barry will be up against, and is considered at this time the Fastest of all the speedsters…..At least until we get an idea of Barry Allen’s powers.

Finally we get a glimpse of another Earth which also has a Savior of Central City………Harrison Well’s. Thats right he is back and leaves us with the question is this a good Wells or are we being introduce to ZOOM? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Episode two was enjoyable and fun, it was definitely back to what we have come to expect from Flash episodes. This is an easy Two Thumbs up

The Flash Review: Season 2 Episode 1 "The Man Who Saved Central City"

The Flash Season 2 Episode 1
"The Man Who Saved Central City"

Synopsis:
In the season premiere, Barry Allen (GRANT GUSTIN) has chosen to protect the city on his own - until a meta-human named Atom Smasher (ADAM COPELAND) attacks

Review:
Everything about season 1 of The Flash was great, not only did we get a conclusion to the Reverse Flash/Harrison Wells Story arc we also were left with a great Cliff Hanger. Episode 1 of Season two started a little confusing with the battle between Captain Cold and Heatwave vs the Team of Flash and Firestorm……..was that a Dream Sequence or an Alternative Universe? Then we jump 6 months down the road with no explanation of the events of the Singularity. However once we get through the awkwardness of the first few minutes, Flash hits its normal charming stride.

With that Episode 1 starts with the loss of one half of Firestorm in Ronnie Raymond. Raymond sacrifices himself to help Barry close the Singularity. It will be interesting to see how they will introduce the new half of firestorm to combine with Martin Stein. Then the introduction to the main villain of Episode 1 Atom Smasher……I was ok with how he was portrayed, best part coming from this season of Flash, if someone is bad or if someone dies it’s not the end of that character. Got to love the Multi-verse! Speaking of the Multi-verse it looks as this season we will soon be introduced to the Meta-Human powers of Cisco, I can’t wait to see how this expands on the show to help explain different characters. (Side note: Does anyone else think that the hidden gem of this show is Cisco?) And finally the arrival of The Original Flash Jay Garrick

Episode 1 is the start of something great, but it had to pack a lot of information and storytelling into one episode. I think it was for the most part well done and I give Flash………One Thumbs Up
