The Binge Watcher Review: Interrogation (2016)

Interrogation (2016)

Starring:

Synopsis:

After the FBI receives a threat that endangers the entire city, an Interrogator and an I.T. Specialist are plunged into a series of mind games with a criminal mastermind, desperately racing against time to uncover the villain’s true agenda as they fight to protect thousands of lives. 

The Good:

This may be the best WWE Studio’s film that has been made couple that with Adam Copeland’s ever improving performance and you end up with a solid movie.

The Bad:

While the movie itself and the star of the movie were solid, the supporting cast left a lot to be desired. I am not saying it was horrible but it definitely felt like a movie which had the cast of a Straight to DVD Movie.

Final Thoughts:

Interrogation is the third film in the WWE/Lionsgate movie agreement which was agreed upon to showcase emerging talent. If you haven’t figure out yet, this really is to showcase WWE Talent. Interrogation is not the exception, as this movie stars former WWE star and Hall of Famer Edge (Adam Copeland) and current WWE Star Lana (CJ Perry). Usually you would have to be a Hard Core WWE fan to enjoy the movie, but this film is different, Its actually a solid movie

Adam Copeland performance is a major improvement since his first major movie “Bending The Rules”. It’s one of the reason’s this movie came across as much more watchable than most WWE Films.

This movie starts with the interrogation of man who is terrorizing a community and ends with a major twist which you wouldn’t see coming. With a film like this it was nice to see that the action used was spaced between the plot of the movie, leaving the viewer with a nice fast pace film that doesn’t leave you bored and wanting to turn the channel. I recommend this film for your viewing pleasure.

In 2005 the WWE was short on entertainment and even shorter on Superstar talent, the biggest show of the year had begun to become stale. In efforts to spice up Wrestlemania, the creative team came up with the Money In the Bank concept. This would pit multiple WWE Superstars up against each other, fighting for a brief Case which held a contract that could be cashed in at anytime for up to a year for the Heavyweight Championship. For the next 5 years the match would be one of the two matches which stole the show each year, it would create intrigue and fresh storylines until it was ultimately cashed in. 

By the time 2010 rolled around, the Money In The Bank Match was one of the most looked forward to matches and WWE decided it was time to give it its own Pay Per View. This might have been the smartest move that WWE made in the past 10 years. As a result something funny started to happened, MITB quietly moved to become an equal to the Royal Rumble. It’s a match that creates stars while pushing them to the forefront of the WWE Universe.

This past Sunday was no different, With Dean Ambrose stealing the show and winning the MITB Briefcase it elevated another star and by the end of the night we had a New WWE Champion. Finally the fans have what they really want, a Ambrose Championship reign.

Movie Review: 12 Rounds 3: Lockdown (2015)

12 Rounds 3: Lockdown (2015)

Starring: Jonathan Good, Roger R Cross, Rebecca Marshall, Lochlyn Munro, Daniel Cudmore

Synopsis:

Lockdown Follows a police officer who returns to duty after recovering from a gun shot wound to discover incriminating evidence of illegal activities against those closest to him. He quickly finds himself trapped inside his own percent, hunted and in search of the truth, as the crooked cops stop at nothing to recover the evidence.

The Good:

A well done action movie which may be better than the previous two. Great Action, solid story, and well acted. There isn’t much more you could asked for in an all out fight between good and evil.

The Bad:

For the type of movie this was meant to be, there isn’t much bad. Is this an Academy Award Winner, No. But its worth your money and time.

Final Thoughts:

There are not many WWE Film produced movies that have been good over the years, but the third film in the 12 Rounds franchise just might be the best yet. Jonathan Good AKA Dean Ambrose does an amazing job, he has the acting chops to be an action movie star if he ever wanted to be. The movie itself was very enjoyable and is definitely worth your money and time. I know I am very happy with the purchase and will be looking forward to more movies staring Jonathan Good In the future. Hopefully this is a turning point for WWE Films and maybe we can start to expect more quality action films from the company that has cornered the wrestling market.

I give this movie Two Thumbs up, great action and solid acting will always win out.

Christmas Movie Tournament

Comic Book Review: Drax #1 - Marvel Comics (2015)

With the rest of the All New, All Different Guardians of the Galaxy going their separate ways after a successful battle, Drax needs to find something to do.  Well if you're Drax, I guess that means it's time to go kill Thanos.  

"Drax" #1 is a good, lighthearted start to a space adventure.  Drax borrows a beat up spaceship from Rocket, attempts to get into fights in space and also has a realization that he doesn't even know where Thanos is.  Good thing he crash lands on some planet, he could've been flying around aimlessly for quite a while.  Drax isn't the wordy type of hero so expect to see more onomatopoeia as he destroys or tries to keep his ship flying.  

I'm interested to see where this book heads in terms of story line.  Is this something that Marvel may look at in a long haul sort of way or will we get a half dozen issues before they cancel it?  Either way, it's a fun book.  Cullen Bunn is great at making violence fun. It's very cool to see comic book writing newcomer CM Punk be able to co-write with him.  CM Punk, of course, is known for being a former professional wrestler and now moving on to be part of the UFC(busy guy!).  

Scott Hepburn is an excellent choice for artist when it comes to Drax.  It's a fun book and he has an even more fun style of drawing.
